Please read this letter in its entirety before completing the Registration Form.
Canadian Parents for French – Newfoundland and Labrador invites you to join us for the Provincial Concours d’art oratoire and Provincial Conference 2009. Many interesting and exciting opportunities are planned to share ideas and best practices.
The conference weekend will include:
- Friday, April 24th: Evening welcoming reception and Annual General Meeting
- Saturday, April 25th: Provincial Concours d’art oratoire, workshop and the President’s Banquet
- Sunday, April 26th: Conference wrap-up
Please complete the Registration Form and return with your payment to the Provincial Branch Office no later than April 3rd, 2009.
Only those delegates who have sent in their completed forms with full payment or payment instructions will be considered registered. All registrations received after April 3rd, will only be registered if space is available and will be charged a late fee of $100.
Please provide your email address to allow us to send you further details in early April with required information for your stay in St. John’s. If you have not received this email by April 16th, 2009, please contact Jarvin Joncas at ed@cpf.nfld.net. A conference package will be provided on site. Please review the category list below and note your category on the Registration Form.
Registration Categories:
- Sponsored delegates (CPF-NL Provincial Board of Director’s):
Your conference registration includes accommodations at the Ramada Hotel, attendance at all sessions, meals and return travel as per the Provincial Board of Directors Expense claim. All other expenses are your responsibility.
- Conference delegates (Chapter President or delegated Chapter representatives)
Your conference registration of $100 includes shared accommodations at the Ramada Hotel for Friday, April 24th, and Saturday, April 25th, 2009 and attendance at all sessions including the President’s Banquet. All other meals and expenses such as travel, incidentals are your (or your chapter’s) responsibility. If you would prefer a single/private room, please indicate this on the Registration Form. Please note that if a single/private room is requested, you will be required to add $60 per night to the conference registration fee noted above. Workshop attendance is mandatory.
- Additional Chapter delegates and guest:
Your conference registration of $35 includes additional delegates from Chapters as well as guests, exhibitors, and other who wish to attend. Meals, accommodations, return travel and all other expenses are your responsibility. President’s Banquet ticket is included in the registration fee.
- Observer*:
An observer is an individual from a stakeholder organization who wishes to attend the conference. Meals, accommodations, return travel and all other expenses are your responsibility. The cost of attending the President’s Banquet is $35.
- Youth*:
A youth delegate is an individual 19 years of age and under who wishes to attend the conference. Your conference registration includes attendance to all sessions. Meals, accommodations, return travel and all other expenses are your responsibility. The cost of attending the President’s Banquet is $35.
Other details:
Late Registration: Late registration will be accepted from April 4th, to April 15th, and are subject to hotel availability. A late fee of $100 will be added to your registration.
Travel to St. John’s: Travel costs are not included in the registration fee for categories 2, 3, 4 and 5. All travel cost are your responsibility.
Hotel and Conference venue: This year’s conference is being hosted at the Ramada Hotel, located at 102 Kenmount Road, St. John’s. Hotel room charges are from Friday, April 24th (unless otherwise arranged) until check-out on Sunday, April 26th, 2009. All but incidentals are charged to CPF-NL master account. If you wish to share with a specific individual please include that person’s name on the Registration form and return it by April 3rd, 2009; otherwise you will be assigned a roommate.
Accommodations: Those who request private/single accommodations must pay 50% of the room charge. This cost is $60 per night and must be included with your payment. Please ensure that you have noted this request on Registration Form. You will also be responsible for incidentals upon checkout. Those who are attending as a guest and whose accommodations are not included in their conference fee can request hotel accommodations at CPF-NL’s rate of $120 per night (including Taxes). Please make note of the dates and ensure that payment accompanies your registration Form or payment instructions.
Workshop: CPF-NL will host an Information Session followed by a Chapter Roundtable Session. Workshop participation is mandatory for conference delegates.
Silent Auction: CPF will be hosting a silent auction! Proceeds will go towards youth activities. All items donated will be displayed during the annual Concours d’art oratoire Conference, allowing students, parents, teachers and all attendees to view and bid on the object. The bidding sheet will include a description of the item, market value, and the name of the donor. If you are interested in making a donation for the silent auction, please forward items before April 3rd, 2009. Weekend Program: A full weekend program will be forwarded to you in mid April. A full conference program will be distributed upon registration at the hotel. The AGM is open to everyone.
